Las Vegas

Vegas was a thrill this weekend, full of interesting people, a city that never slept, and my friends - what could be better?

We arrived in Williams first, and spent the night. Then we were off - to Vegas. We all stopped at the Hoover Dam between Arizona and Nevada for an hour, and took a lot of pictures. Then we continued our journey to "Sin City".

After a long trip, about 5 hours in the vans, we stopped in Boulder, NV, and then entered Vegas. We checked into the hotel at about 2:00 pm, and then we were free to do whatever we wanted until 8 o'clock. First we went to Madame Tussaud's Wax Cabinet, and had a lot of fun there with the various "celebrities". Then we saw the "Venetian" part of the city, made up to be exactly like Venice in Italy. Really pretty.

Our next stops included "M&M World", the "New York, New York" rollercoaster, the "Eiffel Tower", lots of casinos, and a bunch of other things on the strip. It was great! At 8 we continued to a hotel I can't remember the name of, to eat dinner. After that we saw the rest of the strip, and then we went on the Big Shot on top of the 900 feet Stratosphere Tower. We went to bed at 2:00 am.

On the second day, on Sunday April 4, we got up at 8:00 am, and were out the door by 8:20. We all (as in all the people in our little subgroup, that is; me, Alex, Jana, Essi, Michael, Sebastian, Giovani, Marieke, Vu, and 3 more) went to the Stratosphere Tower again, and this time we went on the most extreme ride up there: The X-Scream. The ride plunges you off the edge of the tower, 900 feet above the ground, in 35 miles/hour, multiple times. Believe me, that was heartpounding! I bought pictures of it, and we were already half an hour late, so we hurried back to the hotel, on the bus. We lost Vu, but he showed up 5 minutes after we did, so it was okay. We left about 1:30 pm, and I came home around 9:00. Three really fun days!
